Paul Weller

Almost 50 years of career have turned the singer Paul Weller into a music and style icon.
During his youth, he crossed mod and skinhead styles: fitted three-button suits, Fred Perry or Ben Shermann polos, buttoned to the top, skinny ties and turned-up levis. In 1972, his first group, The Jam pursues this influence: mocassins and three button « mod » suits, all elements are present.
In the 80s, Weller dissolves The Jam to create The Style Council. The group is characterized by an alliance of soul, jazz, piano, parodies of musical comedy and cocktail music. It’s a musical mix & a mix of styles. Indeed, elements of classic English style like tweed or gabardine rain coats are worn with five pocket Levis, white sox and moccasins, or boots and sleek sunglasses.
Paul Weller’s style is characterized by the regrouping of dissonant elements into a happy accident.
